Mo´fazz Band Info

Club jazz at its absolute best is the specialty of Mo’fazz, a quartet from Munich, Germany.  Mo’fazz plays in a groove-oriented style, expanding the borders of jazz with funk, Latin soul, and reggae influences.  The band’s repertoire features colorful jazz standards, selected contemporary tunes and many originals.  The blended composition styles of the band members form a broad musical range.  Oliver Knab (tenor and soprano sax), Ansgar Gusinde (keyboards), Manuel Frey (acoustic and electric bass) and Fritz Rittmuller (vocals and drums) create a modern and evolving sound that lets their music breathe, swing and groove.

The band members each have many years of stage experience, enabling them to celebrate covers and originals with sophisticated detail and exciting improvisation.  Reviews describe the band as having “enormous drive” (Mittelbayerische Zeitung) and “intensive, powerful playing” (Südkurier).   The band’s trademark combination of energetic musical dialogue and fresh spontaneity always engages the audience.

Mo’fazz recorded its debut album, “Do the Fazz,” in 2013, consisting of 10 originals and Joe Jackson’s “Steppin Out.”  The album features a rich mix of groovy tunes, swing, ballads, instrumentals, and vocals.
